My daughter has been dancing at The Academy over the past eight years and we are extremely grateful for the amazing teaching and support she has received. I find all the teachers easily approachable, professional and understanding. They all advocate a very kind and inclusive environment where your child can develop their unique dance goals and dreams. I would highly recommend trying any of the  classes at this dance school. The show they produce at the end of year is a particular highlight and never fails to leave both the participants and the  audience with an extreme high. I am grateful my daughter is part of this dance family.

My 12-year-old daughter has been dancing at The Academy (formerly known as Gillian Moore School of Dance) since she was in preschool. Hannah and her team are highly skilled dance instructors who provide top-notch tuition while ensuring that classes are also enjoyable. Hannah has fostered a supportive culture where the children see their classmates and teachers as whānau. As parents, we recognise that the benefits extend far beyond just learning dance steps. Our daughter has gained resilience, perseverance, commitment, confidence, etiquette, fitness, mentoring, friendships, and a sense of belonging at The Academy. One aspect we particularly appreciate about The Academy is the pathways and opportunities for progression it offers. It caters to young children and casual dancers, while also providing for competitive dancers and older students who aspire to pursue a future in dance. The end-of-year shows at The Academy are legendary, and they are the highlight of the year for the kids!

Through her dancing at The Academy my daughter has developed so much confidence - she adores all of the classes she takes and the studio is her absolute favourite place to be!

My kids (one boy and one girl) are vastly different in personality and interests, but both have loved their time at The Academy.
We tried a few different dance school before settling on The Academy, and it has been the perfect choice for our whānau. There's a real family feeling there, parents are welcomed, and the classes are very professionally run by proper serious dance teachers. We know our kids are getting a proper dance training, and not just being babysat. They are a professional operation and the kids learn age-appropriate dance routines and wear age-appropriate outfits. The teachers are lovely and they are committed to teaching our kids for the long term. I'm so glad we found a school that shares our values and offers quality teachers and quality training. Plus they have a variety of classes to choose from, and an absolutely mind-blowing end of year show!

The Academy is not your average dance school, it is exceptional!!  My daughter has been dancing with them for 10 years, since she was 5, and I credit their kindness and influence for almost all of her positive traits.  They gently hold their students to a standard of behaviour and discipline that is enviable - these dancers are consistently kind, supportive, resilient young people (across all the age groups!) who truly love dancing and are passionately loyal to their Academy dance family.
